It Is What It Is

Debut album Please, Please me turns 50!!

Please Please Me, the debut album from The Beatles, was released 50 years ago today — March 22, 1963.

From the Beatles site: “Please Please Me was done in a day – we started at 10 o’clock in the morning, finished at 11 at night, and that was the record made” recalled producer Sir George Martin.

Ten of the album’s fourteen tracks were recorded on the 11th February, 1963 – performance favorites and “Lennon-McCartney originals”. In addition to “Love Me Do”, the B-side of their debut single and both sides of their second single made up the remaining tracks.

The iconic front cover shot was taken at the then headquarters of EMI Limited at 20 Manchester Square in London’s West End in early 1963 by Angus McBean.

So I’ve been looking around the internet for different things that increase blog traffic. During the search, I found different articles that mentioned blog carnivals. Since I’m fairly new to blogging, I really did not know what it was. I know that it sounds fun. Who doesn’t want to go to a carnival – even if it’s just for a caramel apple?
A blog carnival is sort of like a magazine about a specific topic, like homeschooling or photography. The organizer of each blog carnival searches the internet for blogs about the topic. They also accept contributions to the carnival. For example, if you have a blog post about making your own laundry detergent, you could find a carnival about do-it-yourself projects or something related to the home.
A blogger can also start their own carnival category if they choose. It seems like there not be much variety in the…

Interesting information in this post. Thanks for sharing this information….:)

Writers In The Storm Blog

By Sharla Rae

BabyCatInGrandpa'sHatWriting children into our stories can be both fun and dramatic, especially when using them as foils for our main characters. But if it’s been a few years since you’ve interacted with them personally, it’s easy to become out of touch with their world.

You’ll find a few references to teens in my list of descriptions at the end of this blog, but my main focus today is on younger children. I did, however, come across an excellent blog by John Green and Veronica Roth called The 8 Habits of Highly successful Young Adult Fiction Authors. They have excellent ideas for portraying teens so be sure to take a look.

10 Tips For Writing Children Characters:

The number one rule is when writing children can be said of any character: don’t fall into the caricature trap.

Children should be as interesting as the other characters in a…

10 Problems with Genetically Modified Foods (GMO)

Interesting News about the food that we consume……

Rational Opinions Blog

10 Problems with Genetically Modified FoodsDo you really want to eat GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS (FrankenFood) without having any long-term research done on how this is going to impact your body someday? After all, a GMO food is foreign and unknown to your body, which doesn’t know what to do with it, so it just stores it up.

Do you really want to eat GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS that have had it’s DNA  genetically altered to include TOXIC PESTICIDES, INSECTICIDES and AGENT ORANGE?

What can we do?

  • We can educate ourselves and others about GMO
  • We can help get laws passed to require labeling of GMO foods
  • We can boycott GMO food producers and resellers
  • We can buy/support more Organic food providers

If we will all do this, the production of organic foods will increase, the cost will come down, and the giant BioTech companies (Monsanto) that are taking control of our food supply will suffer because…

Hugs, laughter and smiles

Awesome Post! Thanks for sharing this wonderful article.

Author K.D. Bloodworth

We have all heard that laughter is the best medicine and I have always tried to live by that motto.  Even through my breast cancer ordeal, I tried my best of find humor to keep my attitude in check.  I believe I am one of the lucky people who have the ability to laugh at themselves and at dire situations.  Laughing seems to lighten the pain for myself at least.  Yes I get strange looks when I make light of a bad situation but if it gets me and my family through tough, stressful times, them I’m laughing as much as possible.

As my friend said yesterday, she too is fighting the Machine.  Like us this week, we have turmoil and stress in our lives because of  the actions of others in which we have no control.  Totally stressed for the biggest part of two days, missing one evening of…
