The China Earthquake: “You Must Remember That I Love You”

I would do the same thing for any member of my family. Mother’s and Father’s across the world will do anything to protect their children from anything that would harm them. I am glad that the little one is okay but sad that the mother is gone! She is a true hero and protected her child from the danger around them. This is truly an emotional post! Thanks for sharing this awesome post..:):):)

My Good Time Stories

Mother and Child 1 This is a true story of a Mother’s Sacrifice during the China Earthquake.

After the Earthquake had subsided, when the rescuers reached the ruins of a young woman’s house, they saw her dead body through the cracks. But her pose was somehow strange that she knelt on her knees like a person was worshiping; her body was leaning forward, and her two hands were supported by an object. The collapsed house had crashed her back and her head.

With so many difficulties, the leader of the rescue team put his hand through a narrow gap on the wall to reach the woman’s body. He was hoping that this woman could be still alive. However, the cold and stiff body told him that she had passed away for sure.

He and the rest of the team left this house and were going to search the next collapsed building. For some reasons…

Why You Should Never, Ever, Ever Get A Tattoo (but Having a Baby is Fine)

I personally, will never get a tattoo for the many reasons that you have described here. They are forever, addicting, and many people think that they are cool. However, many people get tattoo’s in the wrong places and have to cover them up just to be able to work. Thanks for sharing!

The Ugly Volvo

I’m not super pro-tattoo or anti-tattoo.  I’ve debated getting one in the past but never that seriously.  But my mother is vehemently anti-tattoo.  Listed below are the reasons my mother has always given me for why I shouldn’t get a tattoo.

And I understand that she’s from a different generation.  And I love my mother very much.  She’s a really wonderful person and I’m not saying none of them is a legitimate reason, but I’m saying that after having a child, I find it really hard to take any of them seriously.

And so in case you were headed out to the tattoo parlor as we speak, here are:

10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER GET A TATTOO ACCORDING TO MY MOTHER (but having a baby is fine)

1.  “A Tattoo is Forever”

Yes, a tattoo is forever.  Totally forever!  Except that a tattoo can, if needed, be erased with a laser.

*Some of you read that and immediately thought, "I am so exhausted, please I need a laser that can temporarily erase a three year-old," but sorry, that is not a thing that exists.
No…

My blog is weird

I know the feeling! People think that I do not have a life, and I do not live my life to the fullest. However, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books, writing about everything that I can. I do not have many friends, and those friends that I do have I do not spend much time talking with them. I have been called a geek! odd! and many other things that I will not mention here. That is their opinion of me and what they see however, they do not see the whole side of me….Thanks for sharing….:)

CUPID OR CATS

You guys see a very different side to me in comparison to what many people in my life see. My closest friends know that I am pretty…erm…odd, but my work colleagues and casual acquaintances see “professional Jane.”

Professional Jane likes pencil skirts and blazers. She eats rye crackers and discusses politics with men in suits. She analyses exam results and collates them in the form of pie charts. She attends meetings with colleagues and has an actual clipboard. Sometimes, she ties her hair up with a pencil. Yes, professional Jane is a straight-laced, no-nonsense nine to fiver.

Then there’s “crazy Jane”. Crazy Jane tries to teach her cat how to curtsy (she *almost* has it). She has an inexplicable fear of foam and waltzes with herself. She likes to not stalk her neighbours with binoculars and pretend she’s a French mime artist. She also loves wrestling and tequila (in that…

Math is not a problem for me…at all!

I would have to say that in high school I struggled with math. However, after obtaining an Associates, Bachelor’s, and Master’s I do not have a problem with math anymore. I do not even have to work the problems that my homeschooling children do. It shocks them to say the least because I just check all the problems and if they get one wrong I have to show them why they got it wrong. Then it is like a light went off in their heads and they say I should have seen that…..:) I love math, statistics, and all other forms of math. I would like to go for a Doctorate in Mathematics however, that it going to be a while before that happens…..

Disconnect to Reconnect.

You are so Right! People have become too connected with the internet, cell phones, and many other things. They do not value family time as much as they used to before the internet came along. I watch as families spend more time while they are eating on their phones instead of conversing with their children, spouse or other loved ones.

quickmeups - short uplifting messages.

Let’s face it, we’re hyper-connected. We’re over-connected. We’re pretty much never not-connected. We’ve always been taught that everything should be had in moderation – but it seems that a constant connection to the internet has been left off this list. We live in an increasingly connectivity-dependent society, and while it has some advantages, it’s definitely not natural for us. That’s why it’s important for us to take breaks from connectivity and experience the world. Disconnect to Reconnect.

“Social media demands a lot of us on top of our already demanding lives. So let’s disconnect as we need to and renew our interest and ourselves.” – Simon Mainwaring

The internet has created a new way of life. There are advantages such as easy international communication and study, but there are also various problems associated with this growth. We’ve become dependent. There are even some of us that have…

Dog’s Are Mans Best Friend

1383251776961Shamie_001

You know I remember having a dog when I was little however, she got ran over by someone driving on our road late at night. Since then I have had several dogs that I loved but not quite as much as I love our dog now. He is truly man’s best friend and part of our family. Sham is one of the most gentle dogs that I have ever known and I am glad that he is part of our little family. He is a Newfoundland, Labrador mix and when we got him he was 3 months old. Of course, we have had some obstacles to overcome with him. Shortly after getting him we found out that he had allergies and we could not figure out what type of allergies that was causing him to itch, and making his hair fall out. We took him to the vet and they said that he was allergic to flea bites. Well we had him on medicine and it seemed to clear it up for a little while. However, the following year the same thing started happening again, and this time he got really sick. We thought that we were going to have to put him down because we were running out of options. Instead of taking him to the vet again we decided to take him off the dog food and try a totally different diet. We feed him rice, ground beef, eggs, tuna, and vegetables. I am telling you what it made a difference in his health, and he is a beautiful, and handsome puppy. We do not feed him all of these items at once we split it up during the week. He was having so many problems with the dog food because the food does not have live cultures or live enzymes.
