Memorial Day is approaching it is a time that people celebrate what our troops, veterans, and people who are overseas are doing to keep our country safe. It is celebrated on the final Monday in May so that we may remember those who have fought for our country. Even though they are not with us today they will always be in our hearts and souls. You know it has to be hard for them to come home to their families and try to forget about the horrors that they have witnessed during any of the wars that this country has fought.

For everything that they do to protect, and serve their community and fellow Americans they should receive the recognition from everyone. There are too many veterans out there that are not receiving the help that they need to come to terms with the things that they have seen all over the world. Some people say that if you have ever served in the war that the things that you experienced during that time is something that you do not want to talk about because of the memories that it leaves in your mind.

When you look at these grave sites you see millions of soldiers that fought for their country and died in the process. They gave their life serving our country and we would not be here today if they had not given their life during the war. It takes quite a bit of energy to make it through the wars and live your life without the fear of bombs, guns, and other things going off around you.

In researching, about the longest living veterans of World War I the information contained in the research states that Frank Buckles was the last oldest World War I veteran who passed away in “2011”. He lived to be 110 years old after serving so many years of watching the horrors of war! He was a handsome man who gave so many years to serving in the war and for his country. What a life to live!

I hope that you appreciate the sacrifices that these soldiers have made for our country. We as Americans owe them gratitude, and recognition for all that they do or have done for America. If you see someone in uniform shake their hand and thank them for all that they have done! Do not be afraid to show these soldiers respect because after all that they have gone through they deserve the respect and the gratification that people are thankful for the things that they have done for our country.
