An Amazing Experience

In February of this year I was able to participate in the SkillsUSA. Personally, this was the first time I have ever competed for something so I was a nervous wreck (lol). Throughout taking the Cyber security classes I have learned many things about the computers, and internet. We can all use this to our advantage and if you are creative enough you can accomplish anything you want. You can do anything that you put your mind to and know that you have accomplished something good. All competitions are fun and also a learning experience to see what other’s have done during the competition. For this being my first ever competition it was a pleasure participating in such an awesome event. However, I wished we could have gone to state but with COVID19 and Hurricane Sally they cancelled the competition.

SkillsUSA 2020

This was amazing to say the least to watch all the students who worked hard to achieve their goals. People take things for granted and do not appreciate the hard work of others. Cyber Security is an awesome field of study. Learning what the hackers are doing and finding ways to keep them out of your personal information. Everyone is constantly using some type of electronic device, and many people do not think about who is spying on them. The information is out in the world for everyone to see. People do not think about the amount of information that can be easily obtained with no problems at all. Learning about these issues is one that people are willing to learn and find out the process of how the hackers retrieve their information on anyone they choose. The best part of the whole experience with the class and the competition was well just about all of it. Forensics was also quite interesting to say the least. Learning how to dig deep into someone’s computer to find out just about anything you want to know about that person is scary to think about but that is also how they catch people.

Moving on with your future!

During the process of your life things do not always go your way. When you finally, grow up, get married, have children, and start a life of your own things change. Sometimes, you are not ready for the obstacles that come your way. People you love go onto a better place and leave the world behind with only the next generations to carry on their own. Leaving legacies behind and preserving traditions that are passed down throughout the years.

People take many things for granted, and are never happy with their life. It is because they have nothing to live for and no desire to make things better in their life. You have to want to do better in order to get better with what is going on in your life.

You know when we turn on the television to watch the news there is nothing good on there most of the time. It is like a horror story unruffling  right before our eyes. No matter what time you turn it on there is always something bad happening. Now do not get me wrong you have to watch the news in order to stay current with what is going on in the world today. However, the news also hypes everything up to make people panic about anything.

Not a day goes by that she does not think about her mother with all the good, bad, and awesome times they had before she went away. Sometimes she sits around and talks to her mother like she was there with her listening to all the stories she had to tell about the happenings that go on in her life. Then she is reminded that her mother is watching her from above but with her in her heart.

It is saddening to her to know that she will never be able to hug, kiss, and wish her mother a goodnight because she has gone to that better place where she is not in any pain and not suffering from the disease that took her from her family so soon.

Changes in Life

Fellow reader’s,

This year started out on a emotional roller coaster to say the least. The one thing you hope that never happens does happen. It has turned out to be a long recovery road with all that has happened.

In January 2017, she lost her mother to cancer.  She has never felt so much pain in her heart as she does right now.  It has taken a toll on her in so many ways she cannot even begin to describe the pain and emotions that is going through her heart and soul. This is by far the hardest thing that she has gone through in her life. It is something that she would ever wish on anyone else.

As the months go by she thinks about her mother all the time wishing she was here for her to talk to, and tell her about her life. The things that happens in her life she cannot tell her mother because she is gone. She can talk to her in spirit and maybe it would make her feel better. That feeling you have when you do something that you have seen your mother do and it gives you goosebumps because you know that she is watching you from heaven.

It is the smallest things that you do like one night she was braiding her hair and she was almost done and started crying because it was the same way that her mother braided her hair. It is those moments when you think that all things are hopeless and you cannot move on with your life. However, when you have a family and responsibilities you have to get up and keep moving. Making sure you are taking care of yourself, and your family.

You know in your life you have to be strong because people rely on you to make the right decisions. You have to make a decision in life when something like this happens on whether or not you are going to let it consume your every morsel of life. If She were to stop everything that she is doing on her life right now she would feel consumed by the emotions that fill her heart full of sadness.

She has to keep moving, and taking care of the precious things in her life which is her family, her children, and her job these are things that will suffer if she falls into a deep depression of heartache. It is so hard not to fall into something like that because her mother meant the world to her. Her mother was a vibrant, loving, heartwarming, and all around great person who would do anything to help you through anything that you were going through.

As the months go by it does get a little easier to deal with the fact that she is not here to talk to or call at the moment when you want to talk to her. However, the times that you need someone like your mother for advice on certain situations you find that she is not there for you to call. All her life she has been independent never relying on others for anything. During this difficult time in her life right now she does not know how she will make it through but she does know that she has to take it day by day.

The holidays are just around the corner and the holidays are something that she lived so much. This is going to be the hardest year for her because she does not know how she is going to handle not being able to spend Christmas with her mother anymore. They say that the first year is the hardest to get through because it is a first for everything. She can understand that because it is hard doing some of things that she does in her life. Because it makes her think of her mother.

You know people around you try to console you and try to tell you things will get better. However, you have to heal on your time and there is not much people can say that will take the pain away because you have to find peace within yourself.  She had to keep living for her family and make the best of things.  Never forget about her kit her and always remember the good times and the wonderful memories that they made over the years. Those are the moments that will help you through the pain.

Reexamining the Reblog

If anyone has conflictions about the items that I reblog please feel free to let me know. I find that most of the items that I reblog are interesting, beautiful, and something that I would like to share on my blog. I understand the concept and thinking that the person on the other side might be a spammer. I would just like to say that I enjoy reading and reblogging interesting information that other’s post. I also try to leave a comment to the owner of the blog about the material that I have read.

The Daily Post

The last time we discussed reblogging, your opinions in the comments were mixed:  some of you felt that reblogging was a great compliment, and others felt that it was something akin to theft.

We here at The Daily Post love a good etiquette debate, so let’s wade back in, shall we?

A Final Farewell to Al for Terry

Although I did not get the chance to know Al my thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time…:)

A Mixed Bag

EDIT:
This poem is for Terry’s brother, Al who was taken by the angels at 08:30 this morning.
My thoughts are with Terry and her family at this time.

Terry asked me to write a poem to say goodbye to him. You can find Terry’s blog here.

Al suffered from MSA – Multiple System Atrophy which is a “neurological disorder that affects adult men and women. It is caused by degeneration or atrophy of nerve cells in several (or multiple) areas of the brain which can result in problems with movement, balance and automatic functions of the body such as bladder and blood pressure control.

You can find more details on Multiple System Atrophy here and here.

Farewell

As my brother I have loved you
For all of your fifty-eight years
We have argued and fought
Brought each other to tears

I would never change…
