Disconnect to Reconnect.

You are so Right! People have become too connected with the internet, cell phones, and many other things. They do not value family time as much as they used to before the internet came along. I watch as families spend more time while they are eating on their phones instead of conversing with their children, spouse or other loved ones.

quickmeups - short uplifting messages.

Let’s face it, we’re hyper-connected. We’re over-connected. We’re pretty much never not-connected. We’ve always been taught that everything should be had in moderation – but it seems that a constant connection to the internet has been left off this list. We live in an increasingly connectivity-dependent society, and while it has some advantages, it’s definitely not natural for us. That’s why it’s important for us to take breaks from connectivity and experience the world. Disconnect to Reconnect.

“Social media demands a lot of us on top of our already demanding lives. So let’s disconnect as we need to and renew our interest and ourselves.” – Simon Mainwaring

The internet has created a new way of life. There are advantages such as easy international communication and study, but there are also various problems associated with this growth. We’ve become dependent. There are even some of us that have…

The Internet is A World Wide Support Group

The life that we live is something that we will cherish throughout our life with the hope that one day our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will know the sacrifices that we have made through our life. Some may say that we have had a hard life but in reality we go through the same struggles that our ancestor’s went through many years ago. However, they did not have the modern conveniences that we have today with internet, Facebook or any other social media. Back then all they could do is write letter’s on paper and send them through the mail. Now, today we have all this technology that allows people from all over the world reach family, friends, coworkers, business partners, authors, publishers, and many others. As a person we are allowed to voice our opinions about how things are going in the world, our interests, likes, dislikes, trials, and triumphs. Something that will be with the world for years to come because once it is out there you can never take it back. Even though you delete it from your computer what ever you put on the internet is there to stay. Making your voice heard across the world is something that no one believes until it happens. You personally get to know the people who read your work, articles, essays, discussions, and anything else that you want to put on the internet.

The powerful feeling of knowing that someone else appreciates your work because you never thought that anyone would read anything that you had to say on the internet. Although she is not an author or novelist she is a writer that enjoys every aspect of writing. Learning new things from the followers that she has and the new follower’s that she will make in the future. The love and support from total strangers has made her all warm and appreciated inside for the hard work that she puts into her writing. The most interesting things can be found on someone’s blog from their trials, triumphs, achievements, disappointments, family, friends, and anything else that you would want to read about from all across the world. As a person you have the world by the wings and you can take it as far as you want to go with the inspiration to inspire other’s around you for the better. Making note of the obstacles in your life and how you handled those situations may give someone in another country the advice that they need if they are in the same situation.

In the years to come people will pull up your blog and learn about you and why you wanted to write about the opinions, trials, triumphs, accomplishments, and the advice that you had to give at that moment in time. They will pass the information onto colleagues, friends, family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and anyone else that they think should read about the person who wrote the blog. You are making your mark in the world. Something to remember you by so make it something that you want other people to read. Enjoy what you are doing because you are making an impact across the world.

Losing Touch with Old Friends

This is my Opinion about friends, and Acquaintance's.

This is for you my dear friends, thanks for all your kind and generous support! I will be back on flickr on the 9th of August 2010. Have all a wonderful time ahead! Thank you all so much! My Graditude and warm wishes to you all my friends! 🙂

Well in some way's this is a hard question to answer. However, in my opinion I used to have friends through highschool, and have made some acquaintance's throughout my life. Many of whom I do not consider friends. Let's define the meaning's of each shall we. A friend is a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. There is not many people that I trust with anything in my life except for my family. Other people who say that they are your friends will talk about you behind your back to other people that they call friends. So everything that you say ends up all across the neighborhood, or even sometimes in another town. The definition goes on to say that a friend is a person whom one knows; an acquaintance. There are many acquaintance's that I have had over the thirty-four years but the only one's that I think of as friends are the one's that stick behind my actions and is there for me when I need them the most. All these friends that I have had over the years were not there when I needed someone the most. Furthermore, the definition goes onto say that a friend is one who sympathizes with, supports, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement. When friends say they are friends they are interested in what you have to say. A true friend will always be there in your times of joy, happiness, sorrow, pain, and so on. The French use the word Moname which means a true friend someone that is there for you when you need it the most.

Now let's look at the definition of acquaintance which, states that an acquaintance is knowledge of a person that is less intimate than friendship. This means that they acknowledge that you are there but could really care less about your life, and what you do with it. Some acquaintance's that I have had over the years helped me through some rough spots. However, they were not considered friends but only acquaintance's because they were only there for that one certain part in my life. A true friend would manage to be there for every single part of it. The good times, and bad times. I would not expect a friend to be there for every instance but the instances that were most important to me they should be by my side if they were a true friend.

Facebook says 375 million users play games per month

I would believe that! Just about everyone that I know plays games on Facebook and there are countless invitations that I receive. However, I do not play them anymore because people take it a little to far.

When it comes to games, Facebook (s fb) has been out of the drivers seat for quite a while. One need only look at the embattled Zynga to see Facebook’s decline in the gaming business — especially as mobile gaming rises. But the social media company is betting that embracing mobile and cross-platform engagement, rather than competing with it, will be the way to keep games growing in the future.

At panel Monday at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco, Aaron Brady, an engineering manager on the games team, highlighted some interesting statistics. According to an internal study, highlighted in a blog post, an average of 375 million people play Facebook-connected games each month, across both desktop and mobile. And cross-platform is a boon for the company: Cross-platform engagement is 2.5 times the level of mobile-only players, and 1.5 times the level of desktop-only players.

In a more selective second internal…

Daughter’s Facebook Brag Costs Her Family $80,000 | Parenting – Yahoo Shine

This is crazy! I have read the other article as well, and this is just a crazy world that we as Americans live in. People are suing for the littlest things these days. What do people think about when they do these types of things. Knowing that it will hurt the people around them or worse. This world does not have morals anymore. People have learned that they can do  what they want without repercussions for those actions. I am teaching my children to have some morals, learn from right and wrong. People in this world do not care about who they hurt as long as they get what they want.

The End of Day Routine

The first thing that I do when I get home from work is say hello to my family and see how their day has gone. For the most part I am home during the day and can see how their day goes. After having a couple cups of coffee, and checking my email, or other things. It is nice to have some quiet time when I get home from work to relax my mind and regroup on what I need to do. Most of the week I have assignments that are due and discussion questions that need to be answered. But somehow I managed to get everything done and turned in on time. When I get done with school work and grading paper’s I like to play some games on Facebook! That is addicting in itself. Very seldom do I go without checking Facebook for one thing or another. I like to write some about the day and week’s that I have had. Who I have met, and conversations that we have. But the most important thing is spending time with my family when I get home from work.
